Leadership in a Minute: Who’s Surrounding You?

Written by Anese Cavanaugh | February 10, 2011

This is a continuation of the on-going list of 17 "acts" for authentic living, sustainable leadership, and simply "getting out of your own way" that started on January 14th, click here to read that post.

12. Engage with people who care about you. Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed and who share common goals. (For good measure, and staying sharp, stay engaged with those who positively challenge you as well.) "Go where you are celebrated, not tolerated." (Can't remember where I heard that years ago, but it stuck!)

13. Be conscious of – and intentional with – who you trust your heart and biggest dreams with. Dreams are often fragile and need a bit of incubation time, this goes with the previous point. Surround yourself consciously.
