Want one of the quickest ways to shift your mindset, create some space and get out of your own way?
Dare to get away.
I’ve been doing a lot of private client retreats lately. During these retreats I get my clients out of their usual element, away from day to day stuff and interruptions and into a rich space that is all about them. It’s great space. And we work on whatever is "up" in their life. It's often in the realms of business development and leadership, creating their business and life visions, co-designing their relationships with each other, and even creating their signature or key note speeches. My clients come from all around the country for these, visiting from places as far away as NYC, Florida and California to Wisconsin, Springfield and Chicago. (My little secret is that I’ve found these retreats so powerful that I’ve even started scheduling them for myself on a quarterly basis.) Sometimes we work in my backyard so we’re outside in nature and able to really get down and dirty. Sometimes we’re at a hotel, and most often I book out a retreat center for them so they get the whole kit and caboodle.
These retreats are highly customized to fit their needs, and they leave with a plan and a clearer resource state to go back to the real world with. Some really cool things have come out of these retreats and I think one of the things I love the most about them is that no one retreat is the exact same, and the people that are willing to lean in with me and do this work, are amazing. They’re mission focused and hungry and ready to roll…and then they go back and pay it forward.
Here are a couple of pictures of myself in the trenches and one with client Sharon Hewitt, the President & Chief Creative Officer of Sharoni Design, a company devoted to creating brand identities with purpose and passion. She's mission focused and committed to her clients, and in fact so much so that I invited her to be a part of my team as our Creative Director & Brand Manager. In these pictures we’re busy working away on her business, her team, optimizing the customer experience and growing her company to the next level with a focus on 1 year out and a 3 year vision. She’s motivated, mission focused, and definitely someone to check out.
Want to plan your own retreat? First - get out your calendar... create the space. Then set your intentions for what you want to create, create the framework to get it, line up a nice hotel or retreat center, or even a nice sunny rock outside. It doesn’t matter where – just as long as you’re outside your normal geography. Commit to being gone gone gone so you can have your space and get busy. Or if you’d like a partner in this and someone to facilitate your experience and outcomes, I may be able to do it for you if it’s a fit. If you’re interested in scheduling a private retreat with me, give me a call or send me a note. Whatever you do…dare to get away and see what shifts in your business, life and leadership.
